Bio
Moira Lael MacDonald is a multidisciplinary theater artist and filmmaker. Her shadow puppetry show, Selkie was performed at the Skirball Puppetry Festival 2019, and previously at Tongva After Dark with support from the Santa Monica Department of Cultural Affairs.   Other work includes Svetlana, (Blue Waves), Anatomy Lesson, Margery and Me,The Life of the Bee, and Letter from the Bees. Her short hand-processed film, The Visible Woman, has been screened at Eagle Rock Center for the Arts and Concord Space. Moira currently teaches at Moorpark College, Pasadena City College and Cal State Northridge.. She holds an MFA in Puppetry and Integrated Media from CalArts, and a BFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She was born and raised in Sitka, Alaska.
